Christmas in the Country

Winterfest

November 4, 2023

Winterfest (formerly the Festival of Trees) is an event in Strathcona County, presented by the Festival Place Cultural Arts Foundation (FPCAF) and Festival Place. The event will take place at the Agora from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  This is a fundraising event for the FPCAF with a silent auction and includes entertainment with a Santa's market.

Strathearn Art Walk

September 9-10, 2023

The Strathearn Art Walk is a free, family-friendly event. This annual celebration of the arts strives to bring out the best in our community by bringing people together to celebrate emerging and professional artists, all with the scenic backdrop of our beautiful river valley and city skyline.

Highland Gathering Art Walk

July 22-23, 2023 

The Highland Gathering is an outdoor event held at Broadmoor Lake in the heart of Sherwood Park ensuring easy access for all. The event includes piping and drumming competitions, massed band performances, highland dance competitions, and Scottish heavy games. There will also be children’s activities, food trucks, local craft beer gardens, a community market, and a family Ceilidh.

Whyte Ave Art Walk

July 7-9, 2023

The Whyte Avenue Art Walk is Edmonton’s first Art Walk with 400 artists lining the streets of Old Strathcona during the second weekend in July to share their creative talents. People are invited to buy art directly from the artists and watch as they create. All artists, brave enough to share their work, are welcome to participate. The Art Walk is a non-juried event that attracts professional artists, amateurs, and students. www.art-walk.ca

Classics in the Park

June 25, 2023

 

Classics in the Park is a new summer event in Strathcona County, presented by Festival Place Cultural Arts Foundation and Festival Place. The event will take place at Sherwood Park’s Peace Park and will feature an outdoor chamber music performance. Guests can expect to hear repertoire showcasing a variety of better-known popular pieces from movies, musical productions, classical pieces and renowned composers. To add to the experience, local artists will set up booths to showcase and sell their art, linking together the “artistes and the artists”. .
